Today I rode my bike from Riedstadt to Alzey and back,
first crossing the Rhine on the ferry at Nierstein, back on the ferry at Gernsheim.
It was a nice tour, not too hot, not too windy, not too steep (my max staid below 60kmh).
On top of the hill between Gau-Heppenheim and Dittelsheim-Heßloch (don't try to pronounce if you're not German(ish)),
between many, many vineyards, I saw many windmills.
You might want to argue that they ruin the view.
But they are important to provide us with safer and cleaner energy.
For me this is a great reflection of the change away from nuclear,
gas and coal energy towards renewable energy.
